In pictures: Shakespeare parade reaches Holy Trinity Church

A parade honouring 400 years since the death of playwright William Shakespeare has taken place in his hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon.

The parade began on a rather sombre note before ending on a more upbeat level with a performance from the New Orleans jazz band.

It ended at the Holy Trinity Church where Shakespeare is buried.
