Central weather: Warning for heavy rain

The Met office have issued a weather warning for heavy and persistent rain on Monday until 1200. It brings with it a risk of surface water flooding, which could be made worse in some places by wind-blown debris.

The rain is expected to clear around mid-morning. Be aware that some low level disruption from localised flooding looks likely.

The following areas are affected:

Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Telford and Wrekin, Warwickshire, West Midlands Conurbation, Worcestershire, Derby, Derbyshire, Leicester, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Rutland
