Fears future generations in Midlands will never have their own home
There are fears that future generations in the Midlands will never be able to own a home to settle down in old age, according to charity research.
Homelessness charity Shelter surveyed almost two thousand adults across the country, asking whether they agreed with the following statement:
'I worry that future generations will never be able to buy or rent a home they can settle down in'.
The majority of adults in both regions agreed with the statement, underlining concerns over the future for younger generations and their ability to purchase their own home.
Shelter's research found that a large majority of people who don't currently live in a long-term home say they would like to, either now or in future.
Most say the key reason is to give them stability or to put down roots.
