Police target boating community in search for missing man
Police officers are spending the weekend visiting Sawley Marina as the search for a missing man enters its second week.
22-year-old Josh Cotton was last seen near his narrow boat in Sawley Marina at around 4pm on Friday 11 March.
He has spent the last year living on his narrow boat called The Spirit which is moored on the south side of the marina.
Earlier this week police divers searched the marina where his boat is moored. Officers have now widened their search to include scrubland and fields around the area.
The Marina is holding an open weekend, and officers are hoping to speak to visitors to the site, which is near Long Eaton, and owners who moor their boats there but who as yet be unaware that a fellow boat owner is missing.
Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire police forces are all involved in the operation to find missing Josh.
