Derby has topped a public poll to get its own official Monopoly board.

Twenty locations were shortlisted from the region and four were selected for a public vote.

Derby beat Leicester, Grantham and Newark to claim the prize and the vote attracted interest from as far away as Brisbane, Australia.

Derby won the vote by 0.4 % and at one point the games' bosses claimed they nearly had to resort to rolling their own Monopoly dice.

The board will feature famous Derby landmarks such as The Guildhall, which is being pitched as a possible Mayfair, Derby Cathedral, Pride Park, Kedleston Hall and the Derby Museum and Art Gallery. However, there will not be stations like in the original game.
