Stuart Pearce makes surprising return to football
The former Nottingham Forest player and manager, Stuart Pearce, has made a surprising return to football 13 years after retiring.
He made his debut yesterday for Gloucestershire non-leaguers Longford AFC - dubbed the worst team in the country - after failing to win any of their 22 games this season.
The 53-year-old's return was watched by hundreds of spectators but he was unable to help his new side end their slump as they lost 1-0.
Pearce, who also played for Coventry City in the 80's, spoke about the importance of grass-roots football.
