Sports Direct set to be pushed out of UK's top 100 firms
The Derbyshire-based high street chain Sports Direct looks set to be pushed out of the UK's top 100 firms.
That is according to the FTSE Russell group, which runs the FTSE 100 Index.
But supermarket Morrisons, bookmaker Paddy Power Betfair and healthcare specialist Mediclinic International look set to take their place among the country's biggest firms.
However, the FTSE Russell group stresses that all current positions are"indicative" until its EMEA Committee announces the changes to the FTSE 100 and 250 at the close of trading on Wednesday evening.
Sports Direct has seen its shares tumble some 50% over the last 12 months.
Investors are unhappy at the corporate governance at the business. The retailer also issued a profit warning in January because of fierce highstreet competition and bad weather in the run-up to Christmas.
