New service launched to help thousands living with diabetes in Nottingham
A new service to improve the help given to people with diabetes in Nottingham will be launched today.
Over 15,500 people in Nottingham are diagnosed with diabetes and this figure has risen by more than three per cent over the last three years,
Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group has been conducting a review into the services offered to diabetes patients in the city, speaking to patients, clinicians and service providers.
Improvements which the new Nottingham City Diabetes Service will offer include:
Structured diabetes education programmes
Specialist support from nurses and clinicians
More flexible and patient-centred services
Simplified one referral route structure
