The brother of a helicopter pilot from Birmingham who was shot dead in Tanzania has set up a fundraising page in his memory.

37-year-old Roger Gower, who grew up in Edgbaston, was helping authorities in the Maswa game reserve track poachers when they fired on his aircraft on Friday, according to the Friedkin Conservation Fund.

Max Gower launched the charity appeal to help anti-poaching efforts in Tanzania because "some good should come of Roger's tragic death".

At the time of writing more than £36,000 has been raised, with the £50,000 target in site.
