Coventry City pays tribute to two former players
Coventry City has paid tribute to former players Ken Satchwell and Ray Pointer who passed away this week.
Ken Satchwell, who was 76, was a long-standing member of the Coventry City Former Players Association and a regular at the Ricoh Arena on a match-day.
He was one of only two Sky Blues players in the last 45 years to score four times in a single game, with the goals coming in a 5-3 home win over Wrexham on December 25th, 1959 - the last time City played a league game on Christmas Day.
Ray Pointer, who was 79, had a shorter stint at the Sky Blues, making 26 appearances and scoring 13 goals between 1965-66. He went on to earn 3 England cap, scoring twice for his country.
Pointer was better known for the time he spent at Burnley FC, where he made a total of 270 appearances and scored 132 goals for the Clarets.
