Coventry City Council have confirmed that the UK’s biggest free family music festival will once again return to the War Memorial Park from 1-3 July.

With the budget now confirmed, event planning will now start on delivering another music event for Coventry.

Whilst ensuring Godiva Festival goes ahead, the Council is also making it clear that the on-going support of partners, organisers and sponsors, is essential to maintain and develop the festival for future years.

2016 will see the festival enter its 18th year and will offer great family entertainment and attractions alongside live music and performances.

Last year, the festival recorded a record-breaking 141,000 visits over the weekend, with acts such as the Fun Lovin’ Criminals, The Wombats and Embrace.

The city is currently developing and building its bid to become the UK City of Culture in 2021.

With the dates confirmed, event organisers have already begun the hard work into securing artists to play or perform at the event and link with local organisations and charities.

Last year, the festival continued to celebrate Coventry and Warwickshire-based talent, and event organisers are still aiming to ensure quality local artists get their chance to take to the stage over the weekend.
