Japanese Princess to graduate from University of Leicester
A member of the Japanese Imperial Family will be at the University of Leicester today for her graduation ceremony.
Princess Mako of Akishino is one of the grandchildren of the reigning Emperor of Japan.
She attained a Master's degree in Art Museum and Gallery Studies after studying on campus for a year.
The Princess began her course in Leicester in September 2014, living with other students in the University's Halls of Residence and studying at the School of Museum Studies.
She also completed a placement at Coventry Museums and collections-based research at New Walk Museum in Leicester.
She will join hundreds of students and their friends and families from around the world for the University of Leicester postgraduate degree ceremonies later today.
