Man 'thrown to the floor and kicked' by teenagers demanding cigarettes

A man was thrown to the floor and kicked by three teenage boys demanding cigarettes and money, before being disturbed by two passers by.

The victim was walking down Brooks Street East in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire on Saturday evening when he noticed a group of boys stood near to a small bridge, police said.

The man ignored them when they asked for cigarettes, before they started to follow him.

After asking for cigarettes again, Northamptonshire Police said the boys dragged him to the floor and kicked him while they demanded money.

Officers are keen to speak to two passers by who disturbed the group, who they believe may have been polish men.

Police have issued the following descriptions of the group:

  • The first offender is described as white, between 13 and 15 years of age, tall, of medium build, wearing a blue or black hooded top with a grey hoodie underneath;

  • The second offender is described as white, between 13 and 15 years of age, medium build, wearing a blue or black hooded top with a grey hoodie underneath and face covered by a dark fabric;

  • The third offender is described as 11 and 14 years of age, slim build, wearing a dark hooded jumper.
