Mother in court charged with causing death of two-year-old daughter

A mother will appear in court charged with causing the death of her two-year-old daughter by dangerous driving, following a car crash in Selly Oak.

23-year-old Danielle Parsons, will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on February 2.

She will face a further charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving on April 30 last year, on Gibbins Road.

Following Esmee’s death tributes were paid to the toddler.

The toddler’s aunty, Alana Mary, paid tribute on Facebook posting: “You are our beautiful angel we love you Esmee, there's not a day that we won't think about your lovely infectious smile. You bought so much happiness to our life we are all going to miss you so much, sleep tight angel.”

At the time, floral tributes were left at the crash scene alongside a balloon and a teddy bear.

A card attached to one bouquet said: “Dear sweet beautiful Esmee. Thoughts with you all.”

Several members of the public, including a medical student, tried to resuscitate Esmee at the roadside.

Paramedics and police also tried to save Esmee, who had been a passenger in the Fiesta, but their efforts were in vain.

She was pronounced dead later in hospital.

Police found a Fiesta had left the road and hit a tree and a wall.
