Harry Turner, Chair of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, has announced that he intends to step down from his position in March 2016.

The trust was placed in special measures late last year.

He says he has taken this 'difficult decision' to ensure a long-term appointment can be made and lead the Trust through the next stage of its development. He has served the Trust for seven years.

The Trust says Chris Tidman will continue as Chief Executive to ensure that the progress highlighted by the Care Quality Commission continues at pace and improvements in performance and financial position are made.
