Man in critical condition after gun shot injuries from 'large disorder' on a street

A man is in critical condition after sustaining gun shot injuries in a 'large disorder' on a street.

West Midlands Police launched an investigation after receiving reports that 'shots were fired during a large disorder' in Regent Road, Handsworth at around 4.30pm today.

Two men are believed to have suffered gun shot wounds during the disorder. One man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition and the second man suffered a minor injury and is currently in police custody.

Another man was also arrested and will be questioned about the incident.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the disorder to come forward and contact them as soon as possible.
