Almost 400 workers made redundant at interiors company

Almost 400 workers at an interiors company have been made redundant.

Leaderflush Shapland, which has manufacturing sites in Langley Mill in Derbyshire, and in Mansfield, will not reopen for business following the Christmas shutdown.

The company is a division of Laidlaw Interiors Group, which went into administration in December. Buyers were found for four of its other divisions, no buyer was found for Leaderflush Shapland.

Of the 426 people employed by Leaderflush Shapland, 394 have been notified of redundancy with 32 retained by administrators to assist with the wind down of the company.

Fifteen individuals within the Group’s head office at Langley Mill have also been affected, with 10 being notified of redundancy and 5 retained.
