Six arrested & 170 Christmas presents recovered after knife robber steals Amazon delivery vans

Six people have been arrested and 170 parcels thought to be Christmas presents have been recovered in Birmingham after two Amazon delivery vans were stolen.

The items were recovered yesterday afternoon in a sting by police in the Quinton area of the city after a tip off from a member of the public.

It’s thought that just moments before police arrived the parcels had been unloaded from a stolen Amazon van - two of which were taken over recent days in Birmingham and Sandwell, one at knife point.

Neither has yet been recovered and the second vehicle is still potentially full of parcels.

The six people - aged between 21 and 50 - are all being questioned on suspicion of theft and robbery offences.

Meanwhile detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen the van in the area, or who has any information about the theft, to come forward.

Sergeant Matt Crowley, from Bournville Lane police station, said:
