Debt report: One in five to buy Christmas food on credit
One in five people in the Midlands will be buying their Christmas food with a credit card this festive season, with that figure rising to almost a quarter in the East Midlands.
That's according to research by the National Debtline.
It also found that more than a third of people across the Midlands will be borrowing money to pay for Christmas presents.
The research found that people in the region tend to have below average disposable income, meaning that they have more of a tendency to rely on credit for their purchases.
