The family of a man from Derbyshire whose wife died in October say they are 'disgusted' after thieves ransacked his house while he was out with his family.
John Whitaker from Heanor was spending time with his daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren when thieves ransacked all of the rooms in his home, taking a number of expensive and sentimental items.
It happened during the early hours of Sunday morning. The family believe that the burglary was targeted.
The thieves stole a number of family heirlooms, including John's mother's nine-carat vintage gold watch.
