A man wanted over a knifepoint robbery at a convenience store has been arrested after police found him hiding in a loft.

Officers moved in at address in Henley Road, Coventry, yesterday after receiving information suggesting the man was inside the property.

He was suspected of being involved in a shop raid in Coventry’s Broad Park Road on Thursday night.

When a search team inspected the attic they found the 33-year-old, from Foleshill, lying low. The suspected stolen items were recovered at the scene.

The man was taken into police custody on suspicion of conspiracy to rob alongside two other people arrested from the address – a 24-year-old woman and a 15-year-old male.

They are being questioned in connection with the shop robbery in which a man armed with a knife threatened a female staff member before fleeing with cash and cigarettes.
