Polish aircrew who died in Calverton after fighting for Allies commemorated
Three Polish aircrews that were killed fighting for the Allies during World War Two were remembered today with a commemorative service.
The crew, who were fighting for the Allies, were returning to their UK base at RAF Swinderby following a successful bombing raid when their 'Fairey Battle' aircraft came down in Calverton on October 13 1940.
Today's service was attended by relatives of the crew, including Professor Janusz Gebicki from Australia, whose father Jan was the pilot.
