Tunisia victim from Wednesbury to have sports hall named after him
A nineteen year old from Wednesbury who died in this summer's Tunisia terror attack is to have a sports hall in the town named in his honour.
Joel Richards, aged 19, of Wednesbury, died – along with uncle Adrian Evans, 49, and grandfather, Charles Patrick Evans, 78 – while holidaying in the coastal city of Sousse.
The sports centre to be named after him is part of the council’s new leisure centre complex in Wednesbury due to open later this year.
The naming of the sports centre will take place as part of the official opening ceremony.
Joel, a former pupil at the town’s Stuart Bathurst and Wood Green schools, was a keen sportsman and promising football referee.
