Police investigation launched after Balsall Heath shooting

Detectives have launched an investigation after a man suffered a gun-shot wound in the Balsall Heath area of Birmingham yesterday evening.

Police were called to Copperbeech Drive just before 10.20pm following reports a man had been shot.

Emergency services attended the scene where a 32-year-old man was found with an injury to his back.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and later released.

Detectives remain at the scene today as the enquiry continues and would appeal to anyone who can help to come forward.
