A baby has been found abandoned in a cardboard box outside a house in Corby this morning.

A member of the public heard a noise coming from a box which had been left outside a house in Ibsen Walk at 9am today.

The baby girl was found wrapped in a blue blanket, and was wearing just a nappy. Officers say she seems to be in good health and is being looked after at Kettering General Hospital.

She has dark hair, dark eyes and is believed to be between one and four weeks old.

Police urgently need to trace the baby’s mother and are concerned for her welfare. They are appealing for her or anybody with information to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.
