East Midlands: The UK earthquake hot spot
The East Midlands has seen more earthquakes in the last decade than any other English region.
Last night a 2.8 magnitude quake hit Oakham, Rutland - the second time tremors have been felt in the county this year.
Major East Midlands earthquakes over the last decade:
Market Rasen, Lincolnshire - 27th February 2008 - 5.2 magnitude
This was one of the largest earthquakes in recorded history in the British Isles, and was felt across wide areas of the country.
It caused significant property damage in parts of the East Midlands and Yorkshire.
Cottesmore, Rutland - 28 January 2015 - 3.8 magnitude;
Oakham, Rutland - 17/18 April 2014 - 3.2 & 3.5 magnitude - two earthquakes within 24 hours of each other caused minor damage across the East Midlands;
Loughborough, Leicestershire - 18 January 2013 - 3.2 magnitude;
Hucknall, Nottinghamshire - 28 October 2014 - 2.6 magnitude;
Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire - 14 October 2014 - 1.7 magnitude.
