Iconic Spitfire on show at 75th anniversary event at Royal Air Force Museum in Cosford

A flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire was one of the highlights for visitors attending the 75th anniversary event at the Royal Air Force Museum in Cosford.

The Battle of Britain Weekend event, that took place this weekend, included a flypast on both days from the most famous British fighter aircraft in history.

The Spitfire won immortal fame during the summer months of 1940 by helping to defeat the German air attacks during the Battle of Britain.

The unmistakable Spitfire sound and silhouette flew over Shropshire this morning at around 11.25am.
