Police in urgent appeal to find missing Walsall girl

Police have released an urgent appeal to find a 17-year-old girl who has gone missing from her home in Walsall.

Ashika Yates – who has never been missing before - left her home on Abingdon Way, Bloxwich, on Saturday 5 September at around 11:30am.

Ashika said she was going to get the train to see her mother who lives in Bromsgrove, but did not arrive. It is not known whether she did board the train or arrive in Bromsgrove.

Officers in Warwickshire and West Mercia have also been looking for the teenager.

Detective Sergeant Michael Mason, from Walsall Police, said:

Ashika is described by police as 5'2", of slim build with brown shoulder length hair and a tanned complexion. She has a scar on her right arm and her tongue is pierced.
