Police warn of traffic delays after the MotoGP at Silverstone
Police in Northamptonshire are warning motorists of heavy traffic disruption this afternoon following the MotoGP.
They are urging drivers to avoid the A43 and the A5 in Silverstone due to the high volume of fans leaving the circuit.
Earlier Valentino Rossi claimed his fourth win of the season in the challenging wet conditions, with Danilo Petrucci and Andrea Dovizioso completing the podium.
It was his first ever victory at Silverstone, and means he has now opened up a 12-point lead in the World Championship standings over his teammate Jorge Lorenzo.
The rain meant the event was held up by about 30 minutes as organisers had originally declared it to be a dry race.
