Mother and grandmother to appear in court after 6-month old baby mauled to death

Two people will appear in a court next month after a 6-month-old baby was mauled to death in Daventry by an illegal dog.

Molly Mae Wotherspoon died after an American pitbull attacked her on October 3 last year.

Claire Riley, Molly Mae's mother has been charged with an offence under the Dangerous Dogs Act as her pet is considered to be dangerously out of control posing a risk to those surrounding.

The 23-year-old has been bailed to an address in Northampton and will appear before Northampton Magistrates Court on September 21.

Molly Mae's grandmother has also been charged with the same offence and has been bailed to an address in Kettering.
