Hundreds of Muslims from the East Midlands have travelled to Hampshire today for a conference where they've pledged to defy extremism.

Around 35,000 people attended Britain's biggest and oldest annual Islamic convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Jalsa Salana.

The event is now in its 49th year and is the largest convention of its kind in the UK bringing together participants from more than 50 countries.

It has members in 200 countries who work together for peace.

Muslims say it's not only a place to come and reaffirm their commitment to peaceful values, but it's a chance to share stories of good work being done around the world.
