A haulage firm owner from Leicestershire says he expects the migrantscrisis in Calais to be a problem for years to come.

Steve Sanderson, the managing director of Stephen Sanderson Transportin Market Harborough, is already losing £500 a day because of thecross-Channel delays. In the last six weeks, that may have cost hiscompany £15,000.

Mr Sanderson believes the migrant problem will resurface every summerfor the foreseeable future and is already adapting his business tocope with it. He's started quoting two prices to new customers - onefor a trouble free journey to and from the Continent, and anotheradding in the cost of any delays at Calais.

He also feels the extra security measures - more sniffer dogs and newfencing - brought in by the Government a week ago haven't made muchdifference. He's calling on the authorities to build prison-stylefencing in Calais to keep migrants away from lorries.
