Birmingham has a 5% chance of being hit by another serious tornado in the next few years according to weather experts.

The city lies right in the middle of what is dubbed the "tornado alley of the UK' which stretches from Bristol to Manchester along the West side of England.

The peak season was from May to October, according to the study of land-based tornadoes from 1980 to 2012.

Exactly 10 years ago, 130 mph whirl-winds swept through the city streets causing extensive damage to areas like Sparkbrook and Kings Heath.

Nineteen people were injured in the super-strong winds.

The tornado uprooted more than a thousand trees, ripped roofs off buildings and sent cars flying through the air.
