Eid al Fitr is one of the busiest times of the year in the Muslim calendar but having enough space to celebrate at Dudley Central Mosque is becoming a major problem.

Leaders from the mosque say the building has become over-crowded with every available space in use - even the car park and the basement.

They say they are struggling to cater for the female section of the community and also have an issue with the disabled facilities on site.

Amjid Raza told ITV News Central "this mosque is not fit for purpose...and despite us pouring in the money, it is not giving us the energy efficiencies required."

Dudley Muslim Association wants to build a so-called Super Mosque elsewhere in the town.

But opposition to the plans has been fierce over the last year, with many protests taking place and a planning dispute with the council.

The council is currently debating an offer from Dudley Muslim Association of £325,000 to end its high court action opposing the plans.
