Leicester brothers feared to have joined Islamic State.
Two brothers from Leicester are among a group of students thought to havetravelled to Turkey in a bid to join Islamic State (IS).
It is reported Ibrahim and Mohamed Ageed were among a larger group studying in Sudan, including seven Britons in all, who left for Turkey on Friday.
The two men, who have been named locally, were described as "nice boys" by a neighbour who has lived next door to the family for seven years.<
The brothers, both in their 20s, were among twelve medical students from the University of Medical Sciences and Technology in Khartoum, thought to have made the trip.
A dean at the university has claimed it is likely the group - including British, Canadian and American citizens - were trying to reach Syria to join IS.
Neighbour Roger Edwards said:
"If you could pick your neighbours, they are the neighbours you would pick. They are lovely people. A good family"
"It's a shock - these things happen when you least expect it."
The 65-year-old accountant said he knew the men's father Dr Adil Ageed, who is a hospital consultant locum.
Dr Ageed is reported to have travelled to Turkey in a bid to try and find hissons.
There is also a younger brother and two daughters who all still live with theirmother at the family's semi-detached home in a quiet suburb in Oadby.
The head imam of Leicester Central Mosque, Muhammad Shahid Raza, said young Muslims would be warned of the dangers of IS at Friday prayers, in light of the development.
