Police find stolen 'Gotham' village road sign
A road sign belonging to a Nottinghamshire village believed to have been stolen by Batman enthusiasts has been recovered by police at an address in Loughborough.
Gotham (pronounced Goat-ham) shares its name with the fictional city where the "caped crusader" fights crime.
It is claimed to be the most stolen sign in the country, with three reported thefts in the last four years. It last went missing in 2014.
Police executed a warrant on Ferryman Road, Loughborough on 16 June.
They arrested a 39-year-old man for drugs offences, theft and extracting electricity. W
hat is believed to be Class A drugs were recovered, as well as the Gotham sign.
The man has been bailed pending further inquiries.
Nottinghamshire County Council, who own the sign, also took to twitter to show their gratitude for its recovery.
The village of Gotham is very different to the sprawling metropolis where Batman calls his home.
Evil super-villains like the Joker, Bane and Two-Face are no where to be seen.
Instead it has a modest population of 1,600, with a parish church and pub.
