Man dies after suffering cardiac arrest at the wheel

A man has died after suffering a cardiac arrest while driving in Birmingham last night.

The man's car had mounted the pavement on Belgrave Road near Birmingham Central Mosque in Highgate.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said on arrival the man was already being given CPR by members of the public and police officers.

He was transferred to City Hospital and confirmed dead a short time later.
