Police arrest 16 people at illegal rave

Sixteen people have been arrested in connection with an illegal rave in Lincolnshire last night.

Four police officers were injured - one seriously - after they came under attack from a large crowd of revellers when they broke up the event in the Twyford Woods area.

Police went to the Twyford Woods area, just off the A1, near Bourne, around midnight, after receiving a call from a member of the public complaining about loud noise and anti-social behaviour.

A police dog was also hurt and 18 more officers reported minor injuries.

Four people were arrested last night, 12 more were arrested today and police seized sound amplification equipment and generators.

Police are asking motorists to avoid the roads around Twyford Woods whilst their inquiry continues.
