Who is the living person you most admire?

Aung San Suu Kyi the Burmese human rights and democracy campaigner. One of my most memorable moments of the last five years was hearing her speak in Westminster Hall and say that the British Parliament was a beacon of freedom and democracy to struggling people around the world.

What is your favourite TV programme?

I don't watch much TV but I have been working my way through Game of Thrones box sets & having read the books I think they're brilliantly done. It's also great that one the lead actors is local.

What song would you take with you to a desert island?

Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms.

What new law do you want to introduce?

A law to provide a fair and transparent formula for funding schools to end the unfairly low funding that schools in rural areas have endured for decades.

What is the most important issue facing your constituents?

The economy because everything else depends on it. Only a strong economy can provide the jobs and taxes that pay for investment in our NHS, schools, roads and pensions.
