Large crowds attend launch of Newark's Civil War Centre
Large crowds have turned out for the launch of Newark's National CivilWar Centre.
The £5.4m museum, dedicated to one of the bloodiest conflicts inBritain's history, opened its doors this morning.
It tells the story of the English Civil War in the mid-17th centurywhen supporters of King Charles I, or Cavaliers, took up arms againstthe Parliamentarians.
Historical reenactment groups have been recreating the siege of Newark, a royal stronghold.
