Who is the living person you most admire?

A difficult one. It would have been Tony Benn but now it's probably Vicky Duckworth, Caroline Lucas or Romayne Phoenix.

What is your favourite TV programme?

As a political geek it has to be 'Question Time' but for relaxation I loved 'Waterloo Road'. I was a teacher for more than 30 years and some of it is realistic.

What song would you take with you to a desert island?

Leonard Cohen's 'Suzanne'. I am Bipolar and it really helps me through my depressions.

What new law do you want to introduce?

It would be illegal to privatise any part of the National Health Service and that it should be funded fully.

What is the most important issue facing your constituents?

Austerity! People here are suffering from unemployment, underpay, underemployment and cuts to services.
