Lion dancers will be dancing up and down three floors of the Library of Birmingham later, celebrating a British and Chinese heritage project in the city.

The lion will start on the ground floor at the Spotlight exhibition area, through the foyer and all the way up the escalator onto the Discovery terrace - and then back down again.

The 'British Chinese Heritage Project' was created to capture the hidden histories of Birmingham's Chinese community.

It started after being granted £35,600 from the Heritage Lottery Fund. It was permanently archived in the library last year after 15 months of work.

Project participants include a host of businesses in the city, as well as encompassed pillars of the community such as Mr Woon Ying Yip OBE - the UK's first tycoon.
