Coventry siblings have combined age of 1,000 years
A family from Coventry has made a grand entrance into the Guinness Book of Records.
The Tweed siblings’ combined total age has surpassed 1,000 years and has been recognised by Guinness World Records.
The world record was officially dated on November 25, 2014, when their combined age totalled 1,019 years and 336 days, but they have only just received the certificate.
That combined figure will now have passed the 1,020-year mark.
The huge family began when Percy and Flo Tweed married in 1918 and had 16 children - nine sons and seven daughters.
Four have since sadly died, leaving the 12 who are still alive today.
The 12 siblings are: Elsie, 95; Reginald, 92; Robert, 91; Cynthia, 89; Ralph, 87; Noel, 85; Eric, 83; Ronald, 82; Malcolm, 81; Valerie, 79; Phyllis, 78; and Eunice 76.
The Tweed family was brought up in Holbrooks, Allesley Old Road in Chapelfields and then nearby Lord Street.
However, they have since moved much further afield with some of the siblings now living in Wolverhampton, Leicester, Surrey, Wales and Scotland.
Between them they have 33 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
