£500m regeneration plans in Birmingham unveiled

Plans for a £500 million regeneration of a 14 hectare site in Birmingham city centre have been unveiled.

Based in the Southern Gateway district of the city, Birmingham Smithfield is expected to create:

  • over 100,000 square metres of new floorspace

  • 1,000 new homes

  • 3,000 new jobs

  • £470 million to the local economy

The ten year plans include retail markets, a family leisure quarter and new residential neighbourhoods.
