It's #DemolitionDay in Leicester - send us your videos- Five minutes to go until the towers topple!
One of the most controversial buildings ever built in Leicester is due to be demolished in the next five minutes.
The New Walk Centre, which was built in 1975 and bought by the City Council to become its headquarters, was lambasted 40 years ago for its oppressive scale in comparison to the surrounding architecture.
Today it'll be razed to the ground in a 'controlled collapse' explosion by Birmingham firm DSM demolition, after it was deemed unfit for purpose and 'structurally unsafe' in 2013.
We'd like to see your pictures and videos when the divisive iconic structure disappears forever in the next few hours.
Tweet your pictures to us at @ITVCentral using the hashtag #DemolitionDay, and we'll get them on our website, and could use some of them in tonight's TV bulletin at 6:40pm.
If you are capturing the moment on video at different points across Leicester we'd like to see those too - so email them into centralnews@itv.com, putting #DemolitionDay in the email title.
A horn will sound out across the city an hour before the controlled explosion, and our reporters are on standby to let us know when the final countdown begins.
