Thrill-seeking cameraman gains following with breathtaking NYC snaps

A thrill-seeking cameraman has gained quite a following on social media after posting audacious photographs of New York City online.

Dan Martland went above and beyond to capture unique and breathtaking images of the iconic city.

The 36-year-old managed to get some of his photographs by lying on the busy road and even by wading into the East river.

Dan began learning his trade in Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. He attended West Nottinghamshire College between 1995 and 1998, and did a Btec in Media Studies.

He went on to move to London and until last year, worked as a cameraman for ITV. He now works freelance and lives in New York City.

He said the key to getting the best picture is to be patient, and wait for the perfect moment before snapping the shot.

He gets many shots using cameras that connect straight to the internet, so he can upload directly to Instagram.

On the social media site, he's now got almost 6,000 followers, with nearly 1,500 on Twitter.
