Factfile: Paul Lambert's reign in charge of Aston Villa
Paul Lambert was sacked last night after two and a half years in charge at Aston Villa.
These are the details of his time in charge at the club:
Paul Lambert took over at Aston Villa in June 2012, having just guided Norwich City to Pemier League survival. He replaced Alex McLeish.
It took four games to get his first win in charge. A 2-0 home victory over Swansea.
Lambert guided Villa to a 15th place finish after his first season in charge.
Villa began the 2013/14 season well, with a 3-1 win away at Arsenal.
But their bright start didn't last. They won just nine more times that season, scoring just 39 goals, to finish 15th for a second successive season.
Roy Keane was appointed assistant manager to Lambert in July 2014, but he quit in November to focus on his commitments with the Irish national team.
After that though, they failed to score in five games and slipped down the table.
Three draws and two wins in five games then saw Villa hint at recovery.
But seven defeats and three draws since then sent Villa into the relegation zone.
A 2-0 loss at fellow strugglers Hull City on Tuesday led to Aston Villa sacking Paul Lambert.
