Carl Froch's potential clash with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in the spring has taken a blow after the Cobra picked up an elbow injury in his return to training.

Froch's camp have been in deep talks with Chavez's team about the spring clash in Las Vegas.

It follows Carl's win at Wembley Stadium over George Groves to retain his IBF and WBA titles last May.

The injury means the potential fight may now take place in the summer instead.

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn says he is confident Nottingham's Froch will be back in the boxing ring this summer.
