Teams in Sedgley have been paying tribute to war heroes by holding their own Christmas Truce match.

The game featured fathers and sons lining up to pay their respects to the heroes of 1914. Today's match was played out early this morning. Organisers say the younger players would have been the same age as some of the soldiers who went to war a hundred years ago.

Richard Drew, who's 21 and a student played the Last Post at today's commemoration. The team also heard a reading from the poem "From the Fallen".

A minute's applause was also held, as well as players exchanging gifts as done so a hundred years ago.
