This week we're building up to ITV's annual Christmas programme, Text Santa. On Friday night there will be a star studded show to raise money for six chosen UK charities.

All this week on ITV News Central, we're bringing you how the money donated will be used. Here we look at the work of WellChild, who are one of this year's beneficiaries.

Nancy Cole met the Makwana family from Lincolnshire who, thanks to the charity, will be together for their very first Christmas:

All money donated to Text Santa is distributed equally between the six charities.

The charities are:

  • Teenage Cancer Trust

  • Guide Dogs

  • WellChild

  • Maie Curie Cancer Care

  • Alzheimer's Society

  • Together for Short Lives
